JAPANESE SPAGHETTI NAPOLITAN
INGREDIENTS
7 ounces dried spaghetti noodles
1/2 tablespoon salt
FOR THE NAPOLITAN SAUCE
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 green bell pepper (thinly sliced)
1/2 small onion (thinly sliced)
1/4 pound ground pork
1/3 cup ketchup or tomato paste
2 teaspoons butter
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Chopped parsley, for optional garnish
DIRECTIONS
- Cook spaghetti for about TWO MINUTES LESS than the package instructions (They will finish cooking in the sauce). Drain the noodles well and set aside.
- Meanwhile, heat vegetable oil in a large skillet and stir-fry onion, bell pepper, and sausage on medium heat until softened. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Add drained spaghetti in the skillet with the vegetables and sausage and toss gently.
- Add ketchup/tomato paste and stir-fry the spaghetti, coating all of the ingredients.
- Mix butter in with the pasta, add salt and pepper, if necessary, to taste. Remove from heat.
- Garnish with parsley if using it. Eat.
