So easy to make for something I thought was for the fine dining crowd!

PANNA COTTA

INGREDIENTS

-2 Tbsp cold water.
-1 Tbsp unflavored gelatin powder.
-2 cups heavy cream.
-1 cup half and half.
-1/3 cup white sugar.
-1 1/2 Tsp vanilla extract.

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a very small pot or sauce pan on low heat, gently mix and stir cold water and gelatin powder until combined into a thick clear liquid. Remove from heat.
  2. In a medium pot or sauce pan, bring heavy cream, half and half and sugar to a boil, stirring constantly to avoid scorching. Once boiling, remove from heat.
  3. Add vanilla extract and gelatin mixture to the cream mixture. Stir and combine.
  4. Pour mixture into small custard cups or ramekins. Cool in refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight (I did overnight to be safe).
  5. To remove from bowls, place in a large container of hot water for a few seconds to loosen. Invert each small bowl/ramekin on to a plate, releasing the Panna Cotta awesomeness! Add optional topping like I did!

NOTE: I have made this a few more times since and tried different flavor enhancements like orange extract and mint extract! Mint Panna Cotta with chocolate sauce is AWESOME! Try it!
